Sunday Funday!

Well last week was a hard one on me, and I am sure really hard on Mike. I was out of town most of the week and all weekend. I was in Austin for work and then Lou's bachelorette party was Saturday night. So I did not get home until Sunday. I was driving home from Austin thinking about how much my heart hurt from missing my family. I am home 4 nights, then gone 2, then home 1, and gone 4 more- so this month is not fun.
Mike played golf Sunday afternoon so I spent the afternoon goofing around with my angels.

Meet Bobby Joe Fryar!

I have been looking at adding to our family. I did not want a puppy, and I did not want to buy from a store or a breeder. There are so many animals out there that need a good home. So I found Bob, he is a schnoodle, a yorkie poodle mix. And he is perfect. He is about 1.5 years old, and has been living in a rescue shelter for about a year. He had mange when he first came in and lost all of his hair and was not able to be adopted out. So it took a long time for him to get back on his feet. He was rescued from a backyard breeder that was not taking care of their animals. So we opened up our house and already love him.

Goofing Around!

I know... I know... I have been slacking seriously on this blog. I apologize for that. I just get busy and forget that I have followers that want to know what is going on around here.

Here are some pics of the girls that I have taken and not gotten around to posting. So, again I will do better about my blog.

Ryan and Crystal's wedding!

Mike was in his best friend from high school's wedding this weekend. We had such a great time. It was so awesome to hear all of his old buddies talk about him when he was younger.
How handsome is my man? He looked amazing and I was so proud to be his wife. We had a great time, sure are tired though.
Thanks GoMa for staying with the girls Saturday night so Mike could dance the night away...

Kitchen Update!

So here is the final product... I am so excited to finally have a double oven and nice appliances. This has been so much fun for me to research and change. I got to use my double oven the other night to make dinner and it was great.

Lovely border and "crap" all over the fridge

Old counters and white dishwasher.

WHITE WHITE WHITE!

I am going to miss the border and the lovely light.  I hope I can get over letting them go.

Here is the kitchen with the counters, paint, and appliances.
I know that it is crazy to say this, but after 6.5 years... I finally am starting to feel like this is home.  Stay tuned for the living room updates, coming soon to a computer near you!

Bathroom do over!

With all of the re-doing in the kitchen area I thought it was a perfect time to update our bathrooms as well. I am ready to show you the master, but not yet ready for the girls bathroom (AKA MoMo's bathroom). I am addicted to pinterest.com and houzz.com, so I searched and searched for different ideas. The walls in the bathroom looked like a checker board once I had all of the different samples up. I am not sure Mike really trusted me with this project, I think he thought I was just going to make a huge mess that he would have to pay someone to fix.

Yes I realize that the pictures are all crooked and the place is a mess.  I never cared much about what our bathroom looked like , until NOW!  The before is so boring and all one color.  I have tried and tried with different towels and different mats, but nothing ever worked.

I did not realize that our cabinets were wrapped in a plastic cover.  I researched different ways to paint them, but nothing seemed to be working for me.  I decided to heck with it, I would just rip all of this "plastic" off and start over- so I did just that.

I decided on a brown for the cabinets, but then with my online research I quickly changed to black.   We had a very SMALL drawer in the middle that we would fight with everyday just to close.  It was not really large enough for one of my hairbrushes, so I yanked and pulled it down.

I was not sure what to do with the middle, so I just found some wrapping paper that I really liked, and decided to go with that.  Staple gun and mod podge and BAM!
Thankfully it is the 30% off sale at the Container store so I bought us some baskets to better organize our "junk".
I thought some shelving would be nice under the vanity (since I sit in the bedroom to do my make-up) this area is a wasted space!  Off to home depot I went with measurements for the new shelving.  I painted the underneath with the same cabinet color.
As for the top of the shelves, again with some mod podge and a sealant...

I wrapped them in more wrapping paper!

I love this- we are still waiting on our new bath mats, but here it is.  I am also going to replace the faucets and lighting (but that can wait for a bit)

It is so nice to have room for everything and drawers that you can pull in and out and not worry about a hairbrush ruining your morning.

And of course since I love my husband and am thankful he stood by while I made a mess I hung his pic of Wide Spread Panic back up.
